Directions

From the UMKC Campus

  • Exit the University Center parking lot and turn left onto Rockhill Road and travel north to Volker (first light north of campus).
  • Make a left and travel west on Volker to Main.
  • Make a right onto Main and travel north to the first light. Get into the leftmost two lanes to position yourself for a left turn.
  • Make a left onto Ward Parkway and travel west on Ward Parkway to Belleview (third light).
  • Make a right onto Belleview.
  • Travel north on Belleview (which becomes Southwest Trafficway) approximately seven miles to I-35 North. Stay in the rightmost two lanes of northbound Southwest Trafficway in order to enter I-35 North.
  • Travel north on I-35 to I-670 West.
  • Travel west on I-670 to the Genesee Street exit (will be marked “Genessee Street/Kemper Arena”).
  • At the bottom of the ramp, continue through the intersection to Genesee Street.
  • Turn left onto Genessee and travel approximately five blocks.
  • As you approach Kemper Arena, veer to the left and travel southeast to Wyoming.
  • The main parking lots will be on your right one block ahead of you on Wyoming.

From the East

  • Take I-70 West to I-670 West.
  • Travel west on I-670 to the Genessee Street exit (will be marked “Genessee Street/Kemper Arena”).
  • At the bottom of the ramp, continue through the intersection to Genessee Street.
  • Turn left onto Genesee and travel approximately five blocks.
  • As you approach Kemper Arena, veer to the left and travel southeast to Wyoming. The main parking lots will be on your right one block ahead of you on Wyoming.

From the Southwest

  • Follow I-35 North to I-670 West.
  • Travel west on I-670 to the Genessee Street exit (will be marked “Genessee Street/Kemper Arena”).
  • At the bottom of the ramp, continue through the intersection to Genessee Street.
  • Turn left onto Genessee and travel approximately five blocks.
  • As you approach Kemper Arena, veer to the left and travel southeast to Wyoming. The main parking lots will be on your right one block ahead of you on Wyoming.

From the Southeast

  • From Grandview and places more south than east, follow U.S. Highway 71 north to I-435 North.
  • From Lee’s Summit, take I-470 West to the Grandview Triangle to I-435 North.
  • Travel North on I-435 to I-70 West.
  • Travel west on I-70 to I-670 West.
  • Travel west on I-670 to the Genesee Street exit (will be marked “Genessee Street/Kemper Arena”).
  • At the bottom of the ramp, continue through the intersection to Genessee Street.
  • Turn left onto Genessee and travel approximately five blocks.
  • As you approach Kemper Arena, veer to the left and travel southeast to Wyoming. The main parking lots will be on your right one block ahead of you on Wyoming.

From the West

  • Take I-70 East to I-670 East.
  • Exit I-670 East at Genesee.
  • At the bottom of the ramp make a right turn onto Genessee and travel approximately five blocks.
  • As you approach Kemper Arena, veer to the left and travel southeast to Wyoming. The main parking lots will be on your right one block ahead of you on Wyoming.

Parking

All parking lots A, B, D and North Lot will still be available and can be accessed from either Genessee St off of I-670 or Kansas Ave. to American Royal Drive.

Ceasar Chavez is open for traffic.

Parking Pay parking is available in Parking Lots A,B,D and West Bottoms garage. Directions to that garage are to go South on Genessee St. take the 1st right “Butler Way”. Follow that as it turns into State Line Rd, you will see the parking garage on the left.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: The Wyoming Street Ramp off of the 23rd Street Viaduct is permanently closed.
